SOSUA ART HOUSE - CASA DE ARTE
The Casa de Arte of Sosua is the center for the arts and a wish come true for this small town, which has seen a cultural renaissance since its creation in June 2013. This institution hosts several art exhibits throughout the year, and includes a permanent art school, free of charge for local kids; the classes catalog include the following:
- Violin class
- Ballet class
- Children choir
- Dance lessons
- Piano lessons
- Painting class
- Photography
- Clay Pottery
- Acting/ Drama
- Handcrafts
- Make up class
- Music class
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Local children find a unique opportunity to open the mind to the great arts through this initiative, led since the start by local artist Adolfo Faringthon, himself one of the top painters of the North Coast. Donations are accepted, so bear it in mind if you feel like bringing a donation to foster the arts in local Dominican children.
The art house of Sosua is open to the public every day except Sundays, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Saturdays opening at 10:00am. Their exhibit room with the current art exhibits is on the first floor, available free of charge. It is located in the plaza attached to the Bellamar Hotel, right across the Coral Casino.
